From March 16 to 27, 2026, employees of the Almaty branch of the Republican State Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management «National Reference Center for Veterinary» S.K. Samarkhanov and G.K. Mussayeva, completed training at the European Union Reference Laboratory for Rabies (ANSES) in Nancy, France.
The training was conducted within the framework of implementing the method for determining the titer of post-vaccination rabies antibodies using the Fluorescent Antibody Virus Neutralization (FAVN) test in the laboratory of the Almaty branch of the NRCV.
The training program included both theoretical and practical components.
This training represents one of the key stages in the implementation of the FAVN method in Kazakhstan. Significant work lies ahead, including adaptation of the method in the home laboratory and participation in interlaboratory proficiency testing over a two-year period. In addition, expansion of the scope of accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and obtaining international recognition of the laboratory results through inclusion in the European Union register are planned.
