On 14-15 September 2026, the Second Regional One Health Conference was held in Bishkek, bringing together representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of international organizations, government institutions, the scientific community and experts.
The conference served as an important regional platform for discussing the practical implementation of the One Health approach, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the human health, veterinary and environmental sectors.
Key topics included intersectoral cooperation, the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases, climate-related risks, food system safety, and other transboundary challenges requiring coordinated action among countries in the region.
The second day of the conference, Regional One Health Scientific Day, focused particularly on scientific research, knowledge exchange and the development of research capacity in Central Asia. Scientists, practitioners and representatives of international organizations presented research findings and discussed current scientific issues and prospects for further cooperation.
Representing the National Reference Center for Veterinary Medicine (NRCV), Gulzat Aubakirova participated as a speaker, presenting experience and results from projects implemented based on the One Health approach.
The participation of NRCV specialists in the conference contributed to the exchange of professional experience, strengthening regional cooperation and advancing scientific and practical collaboration in the fields of veterinary medicine and public health.
Participation in such regional events contributes to strengthening professional networks and further advancing the One Health approach in Central Asia.
