During the 93rd General Session of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) held in Paris, Kazakhstan was officially granted the status of a Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) free zone with vaccination. The decision was approved by delegates from 183 WOAH member countries.
The official certificate was presented to the Kazakh delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov.
The National Reference Center for Veterinary Medicine (NRCV) played an important role in achieving this milestone. The Center’s specialists directly contributed to the preparation of the official dossier, laboratory testing, collection of epizootic surveillance data, and development of supporting documentation.
Kazakhstan has become the only country in Central and Eastern Asia to obtain this status.
This achievement creates new opportunities for expanding the export potential of domestic livestock products, strengthening international trade cooperation, and increasing the confidence of global trading partners.
