The National Reference Center for Veterinary Medicine (NRCV) has received official certificates from the National Reference Laboratory for Brucellosis of Italy (IZSAM, Teramo) with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), confirming the successful completion of the 2025 International Laboratory Comparison (ILC) for Brucellosis.
Specialists from the “Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases” laboratory of the NRCV in Astana and the Almaty branch demonstrated 100% agreement of results with reference values across all diagnostic methods applied:
- serological methods: enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), Rose Bengal test (RBT), complement fixation test (CFT);
- molecular-biological method: real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) – across two sample panels.
The certificates received serve as official international confirmation of the high level of technical equipment, professional competence of specialists, and strict compliance with international standards in the field of laboratory diagnostics. Participation in such proficiency tests under the auspices of FAO is a guarantee that the NRCV laboratories consistently maintain a high quality of work.
