During the fourth quarter of 2025, specialists from the Infectious Disease Diagnostics Laboratory of the Astana National Research Center for Veterinary Medicine and the Almaty branch participated in and successfully completed the International Interlaboratory Comparative Tests (IIC) for Brucellosis, specifically for serological and molecular biological methods for diagnosing brucellosis. The tests were conducted using methods including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), rose bengal test (RBT), complement fixation test (CFT), and polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
The ILCT was organized by the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise “G. Caporale” (IZSAM) National Reference Laboratory for Brucellosis (Italy), with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Based on the results of the presented report, both laboratories of the NRСV demonstrated 100% agreement of the obtained results with the expected values for all serological and molecular biological methods used. These results confirm the high level of technical equipment, the professional competence of its specialists, and the laboratory’s compliance with international standards for laboratory diagnostics of brucellosis.
