Carrying out comparative tests

Interlaboratory comparisons/comparisons (ILCI) or interlaboratory comparisons (ILC) are a necessary and effective tool for ensuring the quality of measurements in laboratories. MLSI is a process that involves organizing, performing and evaluating measurements or tests on the same or similar samples by two or more laboratories in accordance with predetermined conditions. Participation in advanced training programs through MLSI is one of the main requirements of GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2019 for the quality of verification/calibration and laboratory testing results. MLSI are carried out to confirm the quality of work and improve the competence of verification / calibration and testing laboratories, and based on the results of such comparisons, the measurement capabilities of the laboratory are assessed. In addition, the results of the MLSI can be indicators of the quality assessment of the used one or another diagnostic kit / test system / kit.

In 2021, the testing laboratories of the AMS and DIZ of the RSE at the RCV “NRTSV”, as well as the laboratory of the DIZ and AMS of the Almaty branch, participated in the MLSI in several respects.

For 2021, the DIS laboratory of the RSE on REM “NRTSV” and the DIZ of the Almaty branch participated in the MLSI for foot and mouth disease, organized by the Federal Center for Animal Health (FBGU ARRIAH, Vladimir, RF) and successfully participated in the National Ring tests, which were carried out by a provider from the Kazakh Scientific Veterinary Institute for such indicators as brucellosis, tuberculosis, leukemia and foot and mouth disease. Also, the laboratory of DID RSE on REM “NRCV” participated in the MLSI for equine rhinopneumonia, organized by the OIE International Reference Laboratory for equine rhinopneumonia Irish Equine Center (Johnstown, Naas, County Kildare, Ireland).

In order to confirm the results of PCR for the detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza type AN5, obtained in the laboratory of the DIZ RSE on RCV “NRCV”, were confirmed by the OIE International Reference Laboratory for Avian Influenza “OIE and FAO Reference Laboratory for Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease APHA, Weybridge”, city of Welbridge, UK.

The laboratory of “Analysis of food products” RSE on REM “NRTSV” conducted comparative tests with the provider of international comparative tests FAPAS on the following food safety indicators:

– determination of residual amounts of pollutants – aflatoxin M1 and nitrofurans;

– determination of the content of salts of heavy metals As, Cd, Hg, Pb by mass spectrometry;

Also, the laboratory “Analysis of food products” took part in the MLSI organized by the Republican State Enterprise on the REM “Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Expertise” of the MC UDP RK on the detection of nematodes in herring by parasitological research methods.

The Laboratory of “Analysis of Food Products” of the AF RSE on REM “NRTSV” conducted comparative tests with the provider of international comparative tests LLP “AGROSTANDARD-XXI VEK” on the following food safety indicators: the detection of Salmonella bacteria and the determination of cesium-137.

According to the MLSI reports, the results of all studies in the above comparisons coincided 100% with the organizers.

Thus, during the reporting period, the NRTS laboratories took part in 15 MLSI 2020 according to various indicators: LDIZ -10, LAPP-3, LAPP AF-2.
